Eric Adams’ ex-assistant re-lists his Brooklyn mansion with a $1.8 million price cut

You don’t need to fly to Palm Beach, or even drive east for hours on the Long Island Expressway, to arrive home at this waterfront residence.

A unique property in Mill Basin on Brooklyn’s South Shore is back on the market — and with a price drop of $1.8 million since its initial listing a year ago.

As reported by Mansion Global, this mansion, located at 2626 National Dr., had a starting price of $6.9 million last November, which was then reduced in April by $800,000 — and is now down to $1.8 million in 5.1 million dollars. Despite the price cut, the property remains the most expensive for sale in the peninsula neighborhood.

The house sitting for a year isn’t the only headache for its owners, attorney Frank Carone — who was once chief of staff to Mayor Eric Adams — and his wife Diana.

As reported by The Post, Carone has not been charged with wrongdoing amid ongoing federal investigations into the already embattled mayor and his inner circle over allegations of bribery, fraud and campaign finance violations. Carone is an old friend of the mayor and now heads his re-election campaign. He was the mayor’s chief of staff starting in 2022, but left City Hall at the end of that year to build a consulting business.

However, there’s no denying that the Carones’ Mill Basin home is stunning. To help get the word out, the original listing agent, Anthony Sciortino of Brooklyn 4U Realty, brought in Jared Antin of Elegran, a member of Forbes Global Properties, to give the home more exposure internationally.

It really is the kind of place with lifestyle appeal for the overseas group: large, luxuriously appointed and with prime private waterfront.

“It’s a compelling alternative to the Hamptons and Jersey Shore that’s more accessible,” Antin told The Post.

However, she stayed for a year. “The price is now more in line with the market,” Antin added.

Mill Basin, a once rural archipelago devastated by rampant industrialization in the late 1800s, is now mostly residential.

“It was very developed in the 1960s with mostly single-family homes, not apartment blocks,” Antin said.

But it’s a neighborhood that’s transforming from simple mid-century bungalows to more beautiful homes like this one. The Carones bought his waterfront property in 2003 for $1.4 million and tore down the house on the site. Construction was completed around 2006.

“A lot of those original 1960s houses are being rebuilt this way. There are a handful of neighborhood renovations that reimagine homes on a larger scale,” Antin said.

“Plots of water are a rare asset here too,” said Antin. “And a corner lot? The property looks like a big pizza pie and is surrounded by water on three sides. That’s a major part.”

The 9,447-square-foot, seven-bedroom residence has five bathrooms and a powder room. The foyer has a custom wrought iron staircase and marble flooring. The bathrooms are lined with marble – and the library is clad in mahogany.

“You walk in and you can go down to the kitchen and family room, which leads out to the patio and pool—or up to the library, which has a balcony overlooking the pool.

That pool is also a high-end mosaic saltwater pool, and is accompanied by a cabana and a wood-burning pizza oven. Inside, in addition to two large family rooms, there is a wonderful formal room with a fireplace, an elegant dining room and a wine cellar.

“This home is truly an entertainer’s paradise. But it has a very rich feel. I don’t mean in terms of expenses. It feels very warm and cozy.”
