I’m a flight attendant – there’s good news if your iPhone falls into an airplane toilet

It’s the “plop” no one wants to hear while on the potty.

Using an airplane toilet is quite dangerous, due to germs, cramped space and lack of ventilation. But there’s almost no game bigger than sitting on the couch with your precious phone in your pocket and hoping it doesn’t meet a watery grave.

And, unfortunately for this flight attendant, she rolled the dice and lost.

“Has anyone else had the fear of dropping their phone in an airplane bathroom and then rinsing it off and losing it forever?”

“That happened to me yesterday,” the brunette groaned, adding, however, that there’s a surprising twist to the wet annoyance.

“Most phones, like my iPhone 15 Pro, are too big to fit in the hole of an airplane toilet,” Case said. “It was fried. It was making the scary sound. But my phone was sitting there.”

“It couldn’t be absorbed because it was too big.”

But not everyone is so lucky.

Whether it’s 30,000 feet in the air or with both feet planted firmly on the floor tiles of your home bathroom, losing your phone in the bathroom is a heart attack with constant pain.

Becki Beckmann, a married woman from Maryland, just found an iPhone she had accidentally dropped in her apartment’s dresser bowl in 2012. Her husband accidentally picked up the device, which had been sitting in their plumbing for about a decade, while it was sinking. the toilet.

“This was so, so far from what I expected,” Beckmann said.

Emergency responders in Seattle, Washington, had to rescue a woman who fell headfirst into a home toilet while trying to retrieve her drowned cell phone. The unnamed victim, who was atop Walker Mountain in the Olympic National Forest, was stuck in the stinky spot for 10 to 15 minutes before finally reaching her phone and calling 911.

She was bathed and “strongly encouraged to seek medical attention after being exposed to human waste,” Brinnon Fire Department officials said. “But she just wanted to leave.”

Case, however, was determined to clean her phone of any traces of human remains.

“So the good news is you won’t lose your phone,” said the skyway expert. “The bad news is that it’s bad.”

Next, she shared best practices for breaking down butter particles.

“You must really like it [use] soap and water and Windex and disinfectant [to] Wipe your phone like crazy,” urged Case, “because, obviously, it’s just gross.”

Despite the elbow grease and sweat equity, the self-crowned “pure farak” is surely leaning towards hitting the saved smartphone forever.

“Even though I wiped my phone clean,” Case insisted. “I still feel like getting a new phone today.”

“Because, well.”
